Happy Valentine's

Happy Valentine's

A Poem by Colby
"

How I spent Valentine's night....

"

Sitting alone tonight on that special "couple day".

So many things in my head I need to say.

My mind goes back to the very start,

As you drove away from that trailer park.

The start of the hurt, and the start of the pain.

The absence of the sun, and the downpour of rain.

And yes this is real, this heartache I feel.

Not just a story, but indeed the real deal,

Although I wish this all was just fiction.

I showed you affection, you administered affliction.

You left behind only a memory,

That has now become a major tragedy.

And although it's mutilated and ripped apart,

I want to exchange those memories for my crumbled heart.

The heart you took when you went away.

I think I need to make that trade.

Your poem really reads so well and smooth--even though the content is painful. You have a nice style and very unique. Your last line speaks well and is a perfect finish.
