Defiant

A Poem by Colton Warr

Your will be done, as I come undone

You fail to see it, she is the one

But your way is true, your way is right

I am sorry, but I can no longer stand by your side

 

Your will be done, as I come undone

Can I be honest? All I want is to run

You reject and rebuild the way you see fit

I am sorry, but I will no longer submit

 

Your will be done, as I come undone

I am exhausted, has this only just begun?

I tried to keep everything together

I am sorry, I can no longer tread this stormy weather

 

My declaration be heard, my defiance be heard

My chains forever unshackled and burned

My life is mine to live

I am sorry, but I no longer need you in it

This poem describes a little bit of what I've been going through lately. It speaks against controlling and munipilating people. The same people that would try and subdue your happiness, and forbid you to love. Sometimes those people can even be family members. This is very raw to me but I wanted To go ahead and share it. Hope you all enjoy.
