The Suns Interlude
A Poem by Colton Warr

I spoke to the sun today
What poured from her head were golden rays
The wind played gently with the curls
I wish I was the wind, if I must say

I witnessed her fire, I saw her blaze
What exploded from her eyes had me locked within a daze
The stars and planets all long to be hers
If I could just be as close as the clouds, forever there I would stay

I heard her voice burn through my ears
The constant heat of it subdued all of my fears
No wonder everyone wants to be scorched
If she is solar I would be content with burning for years

I shared a kiss with the sun today
What it did to me was block my airway
The heat from her lips left me breathless
Now I do nothing but wish it was sunny everyday

I envy the clouds for they are closer to you than I
And, oh, what I'd give to join you in the sky
To be forever close to your energy, I care not if I fry
They say no human can get this close to the great fire...but I can still try

You are welcome!
Your romantic nature has shined in the last two of your poems I have read, it has me wondering if something or someone has sparked a flame inside you and it is about to turn into a raging blaze of interest :~)
