Beneath Broken Wings

Beneath Broken Wings

A Poem by Comatose

I thought I'd be safe
I thought I'd hide
Beneath the wings
You spread so wide
-
You were so strong
While I was weak
But you were wrong
And I, too meek
-
When did we pave
These broken paths?
Of all the lies
We thought would last?
-
I envied you,
You envied me
Our first fight
Was symmetry
-
Both the same
And yet not quite
Our difference grew
To match our might
-
I stepped beyond
Your broken wings
To pave my way
To brighter things
-
And you changed too
But slower still
We need to mend
Your broken will
-
We are sometimes
Now quite alike
You want freedom,
I want life

I love how you speak of the differences but yet they want to be together so badly. This ran smoothly and brilliantly. good job
