Our Dying Sky

Our Dying Sky

A Poem by Comatose

The distant horizon showed drops
In the setting sun
A sense of uneasiness
Yet to come
Like the calm before the storm,
The battle before the war
Like the devils anger
Within the earth's core
The sky was covered in crimson,
A sign of danger foretold
Forgiveness wrapped around
Something that just couldn't hold
The wind hung grief and sadness
In the air for all to see,
Very few saw
But for you and me
There was just something different;
The way the wind rustled the trees
It was all almost unnatural,
Just to watch their leaves
And the atmosphere,
The thick hot air that day
Giving us a warning
As if it didn't know what to say
The way the petals
Of the flowers blew
Toward the endless sky
Now lost in it's red hue
It would have made you wish to scream,
If not for the sound of cries
And the smell of poison
Floating through the summer sky
The morning of the mourn,
Like sweet and bitter blood
So drink it in, for in the end
All we'll ever have is us
This newly paved road,
Is it love or is it lust?
Are we to blindly follow
This fading trust?
Or do I go on without you,
And leave you to atone?
But do I really dare...
To face this sky alone?

HOLY CRAP. AMAZING IMAGERY. I really feel like I can't breathe because the air is too thick and hot. Well Done, Twin!
