Phantom

Phantom

A Poem by Comewhatevermay

I wish that there was some combination of verbs and nouns
To describe the way your soul feels against mine
Some inflection, some sound, or symbol of sorts
For once the words fail me

It's almost as if I imagined the whole thing
A figment of phantom in life and dreams
But see I woke with the dawn and this feeling
Still clinging to my chest that screams otherwise

In a sea of memory I'll always go back to you

Beautifully descriptive piece that fits so much into so few words. Sounds like the ache of waking to the realisation that they are no longer there and the hollow ache it brings, ruining your day just as it starts. If there isn't a word for that you open with, then yes, there should be. Great write.
