My Eyes are Green.

My Eyes are Green.

A Poem by Corset

My eyes are the shade of awkward
the shy smile of summer silence
that billow and snap with the wind
and flap like the white of open sails
across a hopeless depth of winter sea,
the color of nautical moss
Waves pretend they love me with bold
demonstration to drive a worn wedge
between a rock and a hard place
where my eyes shone in the sway
of compass depths in coral greens,
colorless, without the caress of sun.

Thank you Dana.
I find this perfect in every way. Visual, colourful and dramatic. Sensual and layered , it hits all the right ones for me.

Thank you so much Ken :) glad to see you hope you have written!
i like the metaphor of waves being the men who pretend to love the speaker...the bold demonstration...but between a rock and a hard place, where does that love go?
no to compass depths...but away with colorless running.
this is one of my favorites i have read on here in some time now.
