Renoir

A Poem by Corset
"

"Bather with long hair" a painting by Renoir

"

The evening sipped
Its golden bright,
as the sun spilled
its yellow stomach
spoke in streams
of babbled havoc.
Slinging a silvery palm
along the slender hip
of wanton youth in
wishful grip.

O' to be young,
to be young
without the cares
of the infirm full,
of knar's and knot
like the desires of an
old oak tree.

To touch,
the velvet rose light
of the beauty
in her skin,
lovingly caressed
of wistful eye
and
age of bristle.

This is really interesting to find this! I finished an essay on the Impressionists period just two days ago, and then to find your verse... Some wavelength.

What I especially liked learning about Renoir was his insistence on painting optimism, or "pretty things", as he would have it.
And he's attributed this quote, which I especially wanted to latch onto for future reference: "I refuse to paint in academic style" ... Something to be explored there, for interested writers, perhaps.

A nice Renoir, C

Thank you Mary :)
Renoir was so passionate about painting that he even continued when he was old and suffering from severe arthritis. Renoir then painted with the brush tied to his wrists. Passion and impressions. Sort of like your poem.
