![]() No Longer AbusedA Poem by Country Girl47A little girl went to school, Clothes were soiled, fell asleep. Teacher woke her up and said,"come here." On the way out, kids called her, "smelly creep." You could see the tears, Run right down her cheeks. Took her to the nurses office Her tears, had left a streak. She was sent home, Mom was angry, too. Took the belt after her, On her back, were black and blues. She was locked in her closet, For the rest of the day. She was frightened, Wanted to run away. Said, "Mom, I am hungry. " She wasn't given, a bit of food. Mother yelled, "To bad, you fool." No love for her daughter, was rude. Next day, she went to school, She was automatically taken, to the nurse. Teacher had a bad instinct, Taken a kleenex, out of her purse. Wiped the tears from her eyes. She put her student first. Student held on, To her shirt tight. Her actions showed, Something wasn't right. They pulled her shirt up, Seen the black and blues, on her back. Called children and youth, Wisdom, they didn't lack. Put her in a protective home. Finally, arrested the mother, too. For years, nobody had realized, The hell, she went through. In a foster home, She was treated so well. Her life changed, it was great. Smiling everyday, is how you could tell. No excuse for children, to be abused. If you see something wrong, Please have it checked into. You never know, just how long, This has been going on, too. © Melanie . All rights reserved, 4 months ago © 2015 Country Girl47Featured Review
