How Fortunate We Are

How Fortunate We Are

A Poem by The Crag
"

Writing how the variety of life that we have on this beautiful planet and that we really need to value it more than we do.

"

Life is all over, whether we realize it or not

Searching for food at virtually every lot

Whether its raining, snowing, humid or hot

All of them seeking their most favorable spot

Swimming, flying, grazing, and stalking

Foraging, hiding, and silently talking

All of them surviving this trek of time

Which could abruptly cease at the drop of a dime

But they persevere through adversity’s ordeal,

While all that is around them probes its next meal

And as far as we can see, life is sparse and rare

As we monitor and probe it for a glimpse or a stare

Although here at home, life is varied and diverse

Through selfish intrusion, we’re its greatest curse

Ignorant of how truly fortunate we are,

Of this abundance of life, from our local star
