A Child in Danger

A Child in Danger

A Poem by KL

take a deep breath little one
hold the hands and numbers inside your chest
open your eye to all, see it all
because either there is a red signal, or nothing whatsoever
exist not in the back your mind, exist as the world;
the clouds, the skies, the heat, the stars, the planets, the nothingness
and you will be everything
take a deep breath little one.

I love this poem! It encourages the reader not to simply exist, but to live. To make a difference in the world, and to see the endless possibilities. To continue living, despite the danger and the struggle. You know just how to use your words, and you have written this perfectly. Beautiful!

it's as if you're saying to the child to get out into the world and make their mark.

"hold the hands and numbers inside your chest" a brilliant metaphor for time.

Each time I read a poem my heart is filled with song, and when I read this rhyme, my friend, I was moved to the bone. Write on! :)
