Unattainable

Unattainable

A Poem by Megu

Unattainable

Clutching tightly;
I am barely living,
A prisoner of life...
Life?

Wandering aimlessly;
I am barely living,
A hallucination of dreams...
Dreams?

Believing blindly;
I am barely living,
A wilting flower amidst hope...
Hope?

Wishing unfaithfully;
I am barely living,
A phantom of what used to be a reality...
Reality?

Gazing coldly;
I am barely living,
A fragmented ghost of a soul once whole...
Whole?

Breathing endlessly;
I am barely living,
A body suffering in silence for a sweet release...
Release?

Life...
Has taken custody of me;
Dreams...
Has shackled my freedom;
Hope...
Has deceived me into despair;
Reality...
Has hid away the worth of me;
Whole...
Has no part within me;
Release...
Holds the power over me,
Wishing... Longing... Begging...
For an unattainable release.
