ForeverA Poem by Crimson Goddess
Previous Version This is a previous version of Forever.
She stands there
Wind blowing through her hair Under the old oak tree by the river Dressed in white holding flowers in her hand She stares out at the water with a sad look upon her face She feels a presence beside her She thinks it could be just the wind A part of her disagrees Wishing what she felt was true She isn't sure what to think anymore She stands there silently crying Not moving, she doesn't say a word As she stares she whispers one word forever Because that's what she promised him She promised that she would always love him She comes here once a year To throw flowers into the river On what was supposed to be her wedding day But the week before he drowned in the river So instead of a happy occasion it's bitter tears So young so beautiful yet so alone The girl whose dream never came true She stands here alone at her solitary wedding. She vowed to love him forever That is one promise she will forever keep.
