Ordinary Intent

Ordinary Intent

A Poem by Eliee
"

Abstract Ideas, Freeverse, thought provoking

"

And in our eyes

spoke constellations

Broke forth from hell

our demon’s whims

For us who sank

beyond our soul

Tasting rotten flesh

gorged on shards of dreams

Who’s fault that slashed

at skin already falling off

our bones.

For love and passion are what

we wished to taste

But lost are we on this plain

of something ordinary

So, when this demon calls

we are left to do his bidding

Crashing down sinner's slope

we lay at rest entangled in our thorns

Minds taken on a whirlwind ride.. not a moment's peace, not a second's freedom. Perhaps. There's a touch of greed and anger, a need for mayhem.. wildness..

'Who’s fault that slashed
at skin already falling off
our bones.'

Mental and physical carnage.. all too wild for me. i need to escape! Guess your words have done what fine writing should.. touch the reader.

~ well... i'm thinking of "this plain of something ordinary"... and i'm thinking about (a) that nothing is ordinary and (b) poetry always elevates an emotion as also an experience because i feel when we write about something we do taste "what we wished to taste"... and now i'm smiling... maybe coz i too rest with someone i fancy in what i like to call 'a state of conflict'... ~ do you think i managed to comprehend some parts of this piece...? i'd love to know... :)

About
I like to cry at night, with my partner. I'm wracked with crippling depression, but I get through with sarcasm and a deep set bitterness. I write, I read, as does everyone on this site (I would hope)... more..
