Where Hast Gone

Where Hast Gone

A Poem by Crystal Marie Rome
"

This is an old poem I found. I'm not really sure why I wrote it. Please comment! =)

"
It fell off in the rain,
It was stolen by the Baine,
Oh! Where hast gone my dearest crown!?
Lost inside the rain.

But above the din,
I heard a lone man shout,
"Thy crown is on thy head," He said.

I scanned the crowds,
And looked in vain.
But, alas he was gone.
Oh! Where hast gone my dearest love!?
Lost inside the rain.

Ooh, what nice touch!

The old English words used in here gave it a very timeless feel. I loved how the woman (or man) was so concerned about getting the crown that they completely disregarded the fact that their love was there to help them. In real life, we do do that. We only look for our loved ones after we've lost everything else. A shallow behaviour, I will admit, but it's something we do nevertheless. You really spoke to me here. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful!

"hast" sounds like such an old word (I know it is, because I've done Shakespeare before), and I love the sound of it! Especially with this type of poem! I love the idea of this poem and the simplicity of it. it is beautiful.
