Lil Girl

A sad little girl lost in the world.

I see a lil girl over there.

She just sits there; no one cares.

No one can see how her heart bleeds.

I see a lil girl over there.

Her tears will drown the world.

I hold my hand out for that lil girl to only see

That she is actually me.

My very first poem I wrote in the 7th grade. I was going through a lot.

Wow, this is amazing for someone in grade 7! It's beautiful the way that it's not self-pitying, it only mentions the fact that the girl is the writer herself at the very end, like an after thought. That just makes it all the more hauntingly sad.
