The Path to Happiness

It is truly amazing

the time humans devote

to caring about things that do not matter.

Seeking approval

when in all honesty,

it holds no significance. 

If only

everyone spent more time

looking after themselves.

Why

do we value the opinion

of those that do not matter to us?

We shouldn't limit ourselves

for fear of the judgement 

we may or may not receive. 

Realize how much time we waste

pondering over what others 

are possibly thinking of us. 

Maybe then

we can pursue the things 

that make us truly happy. 

For one day

we will no longer be alive

and no one cares
how pretty your coffin is.
