Weakened

Weakened

A Poem by Crystal

I used to despise everything remotely corny
And I hate how you weakened that hatred.
I detest how now I want you to say those things
I want you to tell me how beautiful I am,
how much I mean to you
And how much you love me,
even in my own screwed up ways.

I don't like it because now I want to hear it
and what's more is I want to believe it
more than anything.
I hate how you weakened me.

Now isn't that introspective? a unique view of the longing of the heart and its conflict with the mind. To want to be loved, but to hate just such predictable and stereotypical things. Yet the are the very things the heart needs.
