The Seat

The Seat

A Poem by Wild Rose
"

Woodland Wandering

"
                                                          The Seat

Strolling through the forest

By a mountain brook

I happened upon a place to rest

A strong and sturdy wooden seat

At a parting of the ways

A bridge for to cross the stream

Or prhaps

To follow the stoney path

Higher into the towring hills

Here I will sit and ponder

At the wonders of nature

About this place

Rowan trees

Not yet with berry

Witches will not dally here

The fairy toadstools

Quite a village

Do they frolic unseen

In this quiet pleasant place

love the mix of natural settings and magical thinking . mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sitting on that bench right now ..and what a difficult decision to make ... whichever I choose I win and loose ;) unless of course I might find myself once again at that same bench ... delightful, easy flow meter ... just right word choices that both comfort with familiarity and inspire with images .. g'day to ya Wild Thing :)
