The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by Wild Rose

The Storm

From the kitchen window

The west wind is fierce trees in tubs blown over

Plant pot rolling around

Bird not flying just hopping around

Grounded

Trees Arms awaving

In futile fury at the wind

Copper Beach green buds showing

Last copper leaves flying

Away

By the pond

Narcissus flowers bending

True to their name

To aspy their beauty

In the water

Wild Rose

Just as your name indeed Wild Rose. It creates a wild storm where the wind blows your hair and the flowers pollen comes through your face and the aroma spreads all over you. But we know that after storms go away they leave for a beautiful scenery in our eyes , which we enjoy deeply.

Hello my dear friend and you are welcome.
I enjoyed this so much. You really painted a beautiful picture here. The first line really caught my attention because that's what we do during a storm in warm weather look out the window. Good job!

The wind can be a force unto itself...we can only wonder how it was created and thought of and it’s so powerful ....like a raging current it runs its own course...lovely to reflect on nature...🌹

This is one of my favorite poems of yours that I've read so far! I love how your disjointed surprising refreshing delivery is reminiscent of the roiling storm you're describing. This delivers such a dynamic, fun sense of things flying . . . & I love the last word, by itself, abrupt:
"The west wind is fierce trees in tubs blown over
Plant pot rolling around
Bird not flying just hopping around
Grounded"

This might be the most uninhibited I've seen your poetry be & I like it when you cut loose from your slightly regimented tendencies (I can say this becuz I've been regimented all my life, so I know the urge for order!) Fondly, Margie

delicate and wildly stormy says i ... really like the contrast and short chopping lines that draw me in to feel and see that west wind and blowing pots and tree top limbs "..waving in futile fury" (love that) ;) its almost haiku like ... enjoyed this experience .. a special moment in the wind and narcissus :)
