A Memory

A Memory

A Poem by Max Earns

It’s kind of sad how the years go by,
And the people you thought you knew depart.
One by one they wave good bye.
In their own way, they leave your heart.

Some detach to never be seen again.
Others come back for a brief moment
To change the future by the roads they mend.
Although at that time, you really can’t comprehend.

Things happen for a reason.
Memories linger in your mind like chalk on a board.
Some are blurry to faint in listen.
Others are strong that you’re so sure.

People and things, things and memories…
All attach this lost world.
Some people cry when someone dies.
But maybe they are better off free than in hold.

It’s like waves in the ocean
When people leave your road.
A small part of a notion,
Of a story that has already been told.

Nothing really has a beginning or an end.
Everything just continues on and on.
On and on, as one thing leads to another event.
It kind of purposely continues to prolong.

I agree with the last stanza everything just goes on and on, even when people think things end they dont. Great work :3
