Moonlight Romance

Moonlight Romance

A Poem by Max Earns

I had a query feeling about you.
It was the way you looked into my cold eyes, perhaps.
They filed each emotion and stored it away for further do.
But when you’d enter my soul, into two they’d snap.

You’d have me float around in dreams.
Loose all sense of tyme when the door to my thoughts you’d find.
Can’t you see I’m drowning in your scheme?
It’s not something simple I can just leave behind.

Now grow your wings and walk away.
Cause my soul you have captured in your arms.
You fulfilled your promise without the notion of days.
In me lies the mark of your charm.

How can I be entitled with such responsibility?
I never wanted this, the break of my shield.
You handed me the torch, you gave it to me.
The fire which now burns instead of the ice cold hills.

Grow your wings and fly away.
Leave my heart to freeze again.
‘Cause I swore never to touch that spade,
Ripped my heart and took everything I attained.

Treachery fell upon my feet,
And all for that redundant jade.
I gave all I had as was so keen.
But it all left too soon, so quick on it’s way.

So leave me jaded, leave at once!
Go capture someone else’s heart.
I’m through dancing this moonlight romance.
It’s just circles; I’m falling into charts.

Silver tears fall from the moon.
It’s cries carry through the rain and storm.
At night when the sacred dance they doom,
You shaved dignity from my only source.

Now grow your wings and fly, sprat.
Deep underground where you belong.
Quit your lies, I will not grasp.
I’m just afraid of falling in love.
