Sleepless

Sleepless

A Poem by Max Earns

The night has turned to day once more
I know cause the birds sing their song.
I lay here eyes open wide,
Thinking of only one thing in my mind.
The days have passed
Like the ticking of the clock.
Turn waters over tides
And imagine a world of slumber.
Where nothing ever could steal my dreams
As I chase happily the clouds with in.
No headaches without invitation
No tired eyes the sadly look towards the future.
No broken hearts that resent damnation
Gliding along every opened door.
Just sleep, sweet sleep.
Better than the comfort of home.
Maybe eternally I can dream
Without leaving a single light to show.
As white as snow,
I have seen it glow,
Better than a cool night blow.
Swimming in the ocean,
Spilling colours wide open,
As nightmares come and go.
I must be crazy to see darkness
Shinning brightly as it grows.
No stars for me to reach for no more.
I just see them blink in slow.
Then the rays sneak in
And that’s the end of that night, I hope...

Sleeplessness is at best the thing that infects writers the most. We lay awake with these crazy ideas roaming around waiting to have a purpose, to be written down on paper to become real. I like this piece of writing. Good work :3

Indeed
When I reposted it from the previous site I kept it, I meant to change that. I shall right now!

I was completely with you until the "yo" part. For me it just took something really deep and beautiful and made it kind of silly, but that's just my opinion on the ending. I really loved reading the rest of it though. It reminded me of many sleepless and insomniac-like nights. And the imagery is described in wonderful detail as well.
