Filling the Void

Filling the Void

A Poem by Pale Rose
"

A craptastic sequel to the craptastic poem "Words Mean Nothing".

"
Syllables fill the void
Echo--pale against a scream--
And to fade is enough.

That void, it clutches and holds
Encases, encloses, enfolds
Holding on to dear memories.

Slow cracks at the edges,
And a crack in the soul,
So obviously not a smile.

Though but a few--
Sounds filter through
Reaching oblivion.

A pump of bile words
Black as pitch
Spills out a waterfall.

Dark rain defuses
Puts out the fires
Salves the burns.

I am here, with my mouth
Filled of any word
You could ever want.

It may be cold
But we can sing and dance
And words no longer mean nothing.

Wrote this in a few minutes, so... probably not very good. There is a reference to a song in it :)

You wrote this in a few minutes, but whatever happened to you in that few minutes to write this was a definite miracle... I really really enjoyed reading this. The only thing I didn't really like was the last bit, "And words don't mean nothing." I'm guessing you didn't want that to be grammatically correct, but that's the only thing. Other than that, I love this. "A pump of bile words Black as pitch Spills out a waterfall." That's amazing. The meaning is something that I can relate to, so I guess that's what is speaking to me more than anything. Your words do justice to your poem.
