Cartoon Crush

Cartoon Crush

A Poem by Cyprian Van Dyke

She feels a rush.
The wind moves like a pen
Creating; animation.
Dipping into rainbows
Like a paintbrush in a rodeo;
Drawing his cartoon crush,
& animating his pearlescent love.
Only dreams & technology can glimpse
This love that is wow;
Their love that is now.

Her hair
Is like a rainy night,
Dripping wet
And shining bright.
Her skin is oiled.
Her puppy eyes
And kitten face,
Woman hands
And feet are beautiful;
Pearlescent.

His head is tilted;
Mind spinning.
Hands like Atlas
Lay on his head,
As he looks at her
Like Columbus,
This
angelic animation;
His cartoon crush;
His pearlescent love.

As the sky un-crumbles
Like a wrinkled paper,
Their hands unfold
& touch at the tips of
Their fingers.
He feels her smooth
Pearlescent nails.
She sees his vapored breath
Surrounding them like
A starry cloud.

This read like a beautiful animated love story. Love the pearlescent glow coating it and the sheen of her dark, glistening wet hair. The sky un-crumbling like a wrinkled paper delighted me. Keep it coming, this fantastic wordfest! Rich and new. We need more of this poetry.

Felt to me the narrator is trying to portray accidental mistakes is part of creating beauty with pain and always a authenticity shouting elegance and beauty. How always is told the creator always falls in love with his creations, work and genius. In the line
Her hair
Is like a rainy night,
Dripping wet
And shining bright." Really shows his love towards her features and its unbreakable bond that completely soaks him in euphoria and their own features surrounding them with differences . Alan Watts said once " Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command." Keep writing made me think sincerely your friend in writing and life. :)

This is a love story with difference. A total fantasy world. The choice of words is unusual as it the imagery that so fascinated me. Perhaps a distant love because only dreams and technology can glimpse it? He discovers her like Columbus, this beauty with hair like the rainy night. His cartoon crush! Loved it!
