Fire

Fire

A Poem by Poetic Injustice

Of all the fires you've ignited in me

Inspiration, love, creativity

It's the one that requires your own, in return

That you, yourself, refuse to let burn

And so it consumes me in the worst

Yet urges the others to be put first

I suppose it's a blessing in disguise

And you smile as my fire reflects in your eyes

As I write about you, as I paint you on canvas

I wonder how long this all will last

I suppose that's why I immortalize

In hope one day your love will materialize
