Only a dream

Only a dream

A Poem by Dakota

See the faces of the fallen
Lost in support of this cause
Supression fire loud on the left
No decision is without flaws
Fear and blood
Like sucking on a penny
Gunpowder and sand
The last scents known to many
A startle and a quick jump up
Awaken with a scream
The sheets on the bed are soft and inviting
Only a dream, only a dream.

I'm making up for reviews I haven't returned. So you may get a few from me depending :). OK, I loved this poem. There was a time when your rhyme and flow fell apart but you picked it right back up at the end. This was a wonderful poem.

The poem is strong. Your beginning lines create visions of blood and guns. I have known a few men who would awake screaming from nightmare of blood and guns. A excellent poem.

NOW THAT IS TALENT....I mean what more can I say?
well I can say I really liked the original concept and your natural line breaks
and its clear to see this as a battle scene in Irag or the like.
you did such a great job. I've read this five times

Nice rhyme scheme here and I bet having to be a solider and watching ppl die around you is traumatizing. Great write here!
