Daddy

Daddy

A Poem by Dalebear

Daddy I’m sorry

Daddy what did I do?

Daddy don’t beat me

Daddy why did you beat me?

Daddy I’m sorry

Daddy is it because I am bad?

Daddy I love you

Daddy is it because I am stupid?

Daddy I know I’m stupid

Daddy why you angry?

Daddy please don’t shout

Daddy what have I done wrong?

Daddy I’m sorry for being born

Daddy why you swearing at me?

Daddy I’m sorry

Daddy what’s wrong?

Daddy I did what you asked

Daddy do you hate me?

Daddy don’t hate me

Daddy why did you hurt me?

Daddy don’t hurt me

Daddy why don’t you love me?

You never loved me

. wow ... wow ... wow ... this is just brilliantly creative and powerful, dale ... you've written this so skillfully ... the repetition has worked amazingly for this poem ... making it a rocket write ... it's very, very powerful ... but how could you have been sorry for being born, dale? ... you are a precious gift as every child is ... and you have rights ... as every child does ... you weren't stupid and you did nothing wrong ... you never do ... no child does ... you are incredibly innocent ... you have the most beautiful and pure heart ... and i think you can see that too ... and feel it too ... because you realize by the end of this poem ... that ... he never loved you ... indeed, he never loved you ... because those who love us ... care for us ... love us ... cherish us ... value us ... they don't hurt us ... they don't humiliate us ... they don't injure us and leave us ... what was done to you is one of the most despicable acts of torture ... but i know that you are mighty ... and courageous ... and brave ... and a true hearted warrior ... even today ... when you have battle your nightmares and flashbacks on your own ... you are powerfully brave ... in fact ... every day you inspire me with your courage and your talent ... i am especially glad that life has given you a second chance ... and i am hopeful that you will now be surrounded by the love and support you need to rock this world ... rock on, dale ... go, dale, go ... :) ...

Boy, this tears at the heart. Very powerful write in it's simplicity. The repeat was like the pain of a broken bone with each heart beat.

- oh my!!! - this is an intense song - the kind that tears at my heart - but i could never stop listening! you're really incredibly gifted, little bear!!!
- and serah is so right - you are such a strong, brave, sparkling, gifted, amazing little boy - and at that time - you were just a child - children know no wrong - they do no wrong - there is no being sorry, dale - no being stupid! - there is only the reality that you were a little, defenseless, innocent child - and the torment and anguish he caused - no human being could ever have caused! - not only did he not love you - he is incapable of love or feeling or humanity or caring! - someone who is incapable of humanity - is not human.
you are so brave - so strong - so wise -and look how beautifully you express your pain - how exquisite your art is - how you shine!!! look how you shine, little bear!!!
