withered in the rain

withered in the rain

A Poem by Dalia

Pretty roses come out in the rain
White clouds gather as the tear drops disdain
Gray beetles agonized drop and drain

Dark wind carries the pink memories and colors them so plain

Cold breeze descending from the sky down to earth
Smothering each breath in the soil of pain
Tears wash the soul but leave it so numb
Agonized and empty inside

O sun the eyes do see thy light
Your glowing heat does reach inside
But a withered leaf in the rain is cast aside

Pretty roses do nourish in the rain
But without the light of the sun
It slowly ashes them to vain

Wonderful, vibrant and beautiful. It is morning here and this, I thank you so much, will be my sunshine for the day, even if it rains. Still you retain that quality in your phrasing, a certain blissfulness follows your every word. The skies may darken and open up, flooding the streets, but with this poem it will always be a sunny spring day in my heart. Thanks you for asking me to read this, it is like a gift to me.

thank you.
I did not feel lost dear poet. I felt like a loss was experienced that would wither the soul. Wonderful telling of pain that even the nourishment will not heal.

I thought it symbolized sadness or death then I scroll down and read that you don't understand it either...*surprised* I like that your trying to rhyme but I wish this poem had more...meaning behind it. (I think that was the right word I was looking for.)

I will :)
for some the rain is freeing - cleansing... brings joy.
for some it hides the falling tears.
for some - its thought-full.

A rose in ANY place on this earth - is still ...a rose.

well they are supposed to come together, hope my next poem will bring more wishes
Sometimes some of the best art leaves you feeling lost, and usually makes you want to read/listen/look at it again. I really like reading this, feeling lost in everything and letting the words spin around my mind.
