Nobody knows

Nobody knows

A Poem by Damaris Paz

Life is such a complex and mysterious thing
It can be gone in a matter of seconds
In the blink of an eye, a life can be taken away
DEATH is part of life
All must die
But how does it work?
Why is it that all the good die first?
Why do people die young?
Why do the cruel and selfish live like what seems forever?
The truth be told, no one deserves to die
But we all will one day
So how is death decided?
How does it work?
Chance?
Karma?
Luck?
           Or is it God?
If it is God, why does he take away the lives of innocent people?
Why would he want to cause families and friends such sorrow and pain
This no one can answer
No one truly knows how death works
All we know is people die
People cry, people grief
Pain and sorrow is what they feel
People remember you and some forget you
It sounds so simple laid out like that
Truthfully, its way beyond all words
When someone close to you dies
You NEVER forget them
You think about them constantly
You ask God, why them?
You remember all the good and bad times you had
You cry and cry
It feels as if the pain will never go away
You never come to understand why death took them away and not you
We all will experience death someday, somewhere
Life is a game with set of rules but the outcome is determined by chance
It is a mystery
Full of clues but no clear answers
