Don't Forget About Me

Don't Forget About Me

A Poem by Tasha
"

A man's life while trying to deal with his illness

"
"Where am I?"
"Who are you?"
That seems to be the only thing
I can remember right now,
Her husband pulls out a
Dusty photo  album
"Don't you remember sweetie, your Daisy
And I'm your husband Tom"
Daisy simply answered no
But Tom wasn't going to give up the battle
No matter what it took to get his wife back,
He took her to the place where they first met,
The venue for their wedding,
Anywhere he hoped could jog her memory
One morning Tom woke up Daisy but
She didn't move,
He kissed her and said
"Baby don't forget about me"

this is a beautifu tribute to these two individuals. I love how you captured the entire relationship between the two of them, and the ending leaves the reader breathless for a moment. The final words cut through all of the sadness. I consider this one of the best that you have written so far.

This reminds me so much of my grandmother...so this poem brings a lot of emotion to the surface for me. You did a great job.

Nice work. Instead of being sad, it makes you just want to smile while you cry.
Instead of emptiness, there is a feeling of being content and a healthy longing. Tom kind of makes me think about true love...
