This End

This End

A Poem by Lucas Grasha

Find my past and the guns that went with it,

only if your passage is ever permitted.

If not, then you’ll find notes scattered

that will reveal my soul’s soft pitter-patter.

Say it once, my names sake twice,

my story for your intrigue, it will surely suffice.

For these secrets, till now, have been underground,

so many memories, screaming so loud.

So tell him when you find what was mine

of my troubles and all of my time.

All that I had, I wanted to burn it away.

Let it die on its own, I won’t care another day.

I shouldn’t have done so from the very start,

this is my fault, my atrocious art.

Leave me here with my empire of dirt,

stay away, and let my heart still hurt.

This fate, so horrible, is one I deserve,

nothing is good, I have no worth.

Don’t ever try to save me, time you will waste,

and more of my suffering you will create.

So just go away, go far from here,

leave me in solitude, in my own tears.

Never did I deserve life, but what will ensue,

is my death from my life without you.
