Tied

Tied

A Poem by Danielle Renee

Out of all the souls in the world,
Which there are far too many to count,
You seem to be the only stranger
That already knows so much of me.
I guess it’s because everyone else
Is tied together by the love they felt.
But for you and I, it’s a different story,
It’s the pain that we packed into boxes
To save for rainy days we spend alone.

Another excellent poem which I really enjoyed.

From this I take that the author (not sure how fictional or literal this is) has felt different to other people or alone throughout their life. It seems as though they have met someone that they feel a connection with that they have never experienced before.

I can see this as being either positive or negative. It could be positive because it removes the feeling of being so different and gives the author someone to relate to.... "for you and I". The reason I say it can be negative is because of the line "pain that we packed into boxes." This suggests that perhaps no real comfort has been found in the realisation that they are not so different. It perhaps confirms what they were afraid of. They they are susceptible to pain and will suffer it alone.

Thanks for sharing and making me think. Good writing.
