Trying Not To Love You

I know there is someone else

That’s why the feelings I have for you

Are feeling so wrong

Trying not to love you

Only makes me love you more

Trying not to love you only goes so far

But far just isn’t far enough

I’ve tried everything except telling you

God knows if there was a pill

So I could forget

I’d take it in an instant

But I’m stuck loving you

I’ve tried talking to people and myself

I’ve tried praying

I’ve tried pushing you away

And it all only makes me love you more

The Lord knows how many times I’ve cried

Because this love feels so wrong

And yet it keeps growing

Trying not to love you only went so far

Trying not to love you

Only makes me love you more

How could this feel so wrong?

If there was a drug to help me forget

God knows I’d take it

But then would I just fall in love with you all over again?
