Silhouettes

Silhouettes

A Poem by Darian Justine
"

This is the favorite poem of mine that I've ever done. If you haven't noticed, a lot of my poems have this recurring theme of love. I apologize for that! haha.

"
Silhouettes on the dancefloor
wrapped in close embrace
not a word is spoken
just two hearts race

the only sound you can hear
is the rustling of a dress
scowling figures line the walls
for they couldnt ask less

a new day's romeo and juliet
their love a disgrace
silhouettes on the dancefloor
wrapped in close embrace

he was the son of a no-good
and they were forbidden to meet
but they always knew there'd come the day
he'd sweep her off her feet

he'd steal her away
and with her, take her heart
and soon they would say their vows
til death do them part

as they spin across the floor
to life's never ending song
they know that this decision to be together
was their choice all along

they keep in time with the music
lost in each others face
silhouettes on the dancefloor
wrapped in close embrace
