Shadow

Shadow

A Poem by Darian Justine

Dark sky settles leaving the world pitch black
she walks down the boulevard of her broken dreams
the only company she has is the figure she lacks
she has only her shadow

her shadow takes her hand
laces together their fingers
and walks down the boulevard of their broken dreams
she's hand in hand with her shadow

she's been this way awhile now
only this time its way worse
yet this time she can't feel the pain
she only thing she sees is her shadow

a light zooms toward her, she reaches out
she lets go of life, of breath, of everything
she walks off into a better place, where she can be free
hand in hand with her shadow

With old age. Shadows haunt our life. I like the use of shadows to make your point in the poem. A very good ending to the excellent poem.
