I've lived my life believing lies 
believing the untrue 
handing out my trust like spare change 
having it thrown back in my face 

i've trusted so many people 
let them walk all over me 
all for nothing 
just to be hurt again 

long ago i gave up 
being what they wanted 
and went my own way 
focusing on myself 

i've tripped along the path 
but picked myself back up 
got over life's bumps 
and focused on myself 

so here's to those who try to alter me 
its never going to work 
i am who i am 
nothing will ever change me
