Rejoicing In ExistenceA Poem by Darin PenzeraA poem to make us value the very experience of being alive. This is what is so great about poetry, that it can remind us of something most know but most so often forget.Rejoicing in Existence The storm coming in turns the day dark and dreary The wind starts howling, its shrieking is eerie And on the world the rain does now coldly pound Yet I rejoice in all these harsh sounds The bright sun has today flew away And the gray overcast sky holds sway Casting the world in a dark haunting light Yet I rejoice at this dark sight The world is held in a chilling cold And I to some warmth seek to hold And though the cold air leaves me reeling Yet I rejoice in this chilly feeling Time has marched me to this dreary date Yet I do not at all bemoan my gray fate Though the day gives to me a dreary remittance Yet I rejoice in the very fact of my existence.
