My Dying Superman

My Dying Superman

A Poem by Dark Cloud
"

This poem was written based of a nightmare that I had. I wrote this poem in a matter of minutes of waking up.

"

They call me Superman

There's nothing amazing about this man

He does super things

That everyone can see

But they don't know

Because it doesn't show

The pain inside

I will die tonight

I am not super

I am not man

I wore a cape

I wore a mask

Blood in my eyes

Falling from the skies

It was not meant to be

A mortal man is all I see

A fatal mistake I did make

To impersonate an icon is my fate

I am Superman

I do super things

I am a mortal man

I die a mortal death
