Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by Darksummerswind
"

To be forgotten is a tragedy

"

To be forgotten and

buried under the ground.

It is as inevitable

as the blowing wind.

We don't have fears

of drowning

or being buried alive

or even death.

To never be thought of again,

that is what we fear.

Many fail to recognize this,

yet it is there.

Only those

who are great

and powerful,

will have the privilege

of being remembered by all.

The rest will be

dust to the wind.

Like a great poet

once wrote,

"I'm nobody!"

"Who are you?"

"Are you nobody too?"

Yup to be forgotten is to buried alive. Buried and still breathing under suffocation. Sad poem but great writing. :)

It's sad, but your closing ends in humor. Yes we don't know how many will show up to our funeral, but perhaps it is for the best. I liked this, you are talented and unique. Thanks for sharing. Muse
