Some long past-due news ...

A Story by James Darrow
"

News and updates since my absence.

"
So yeah, it's been quite a while since I've been here at the Cafe. That said, there's been a lot going on that hasn't been mentioned over here, and probably should be.

 Where to start ...

A) I have a website now. That's right, my own webpage complete with contact sections, domain name, and everything. If you've even a passing interest in future updates and news in regards to myself and my works, feel free to check it out: http://jamesdarrow.com

B) I've been published! ... Twice. Possibly three times. Yeah, I sort of forgot to keep mentioning these facts. Either way, the great folks over at http://efictionmag.com have published two short stories I wrote in the April and June issues. I've also just finished and submitted a new story for them to go over and see if they want.

C) My writing has been vastly improving in grammatical skill. Turns out I was doing punctuation in dialogue all wrong, wasn't doing line breaks at the right time, ect. Oh well, the School of Hard Knocks is a cruel yet loving mistress.

D) My presence here on the Cafe is ... well, let's just say that "diminished" would be an understatement. I have some strong desires to have my own published material, and I'm closer than ever in satisfying those desires. That said, I haven't been publicly releasing manuscripts or even short stories. The stories I've been writing have either been published through eFiction, or is being held in reserve for possible publication.

That said, I've had to refocus my attention on where I find myself. I'm either finding myself on my own website, or on my Google+, Twitter, or FB profile (though that one comes last (links posted below)). Spending my time on freely releasing material and handling myself here on the Cafe has, unfortunately, fallen by the wayside.

So yeah, that brings you guys (mostly) up to speed. I'll be purging my WIP works from my profile and likely will not be visiting much more.

If you guys want to keep up to date on myself or my works, come check out my website or follow me on my social media accounts. I try to keep folks as entertained as I can, even if it's through articles about writing that I post on my web page.

I'm a 21 year old guy living in Washington state who has a fancy for writing. Why? Well, I'm told I have an artistic mind and writing has been my most cathartic method of expression. Before writing,.. more..
