Never Alone

Never Alone

A Poem by Darryl Piercy

Never Alone

Running in place
As fast as I can
Trying to catch up
But not able to stand

You are almost to where
I used to be
So much in the future
That cannot be seen

Time for reflection
To look deep in my soul
Stay true to beliefs
If I want to stay whole

I want more for you
So loudly I screamed
Not sure of the answers
Or what all this means

To each life is a meaning
A path we must take
Only we can decide
The extent of our fate

What right do I have
To tell you what to do
You have a free mind
And it is all up to you

Yet it’s hard for one wiser
Who has lived this before
Not to offer advice
Not to give you much more

Than a wish of good luck
Or to hope for the best
When you walk down that road
As you are leaving the nest

But what I will offer
And I want you to know
That I will always be here
As you learn how to grow

You may make mistakes
As you travel from home
But you can always be sure
That you’re never alone

Wow! Loved each line of this piece! Especially:
"Only we can decide
The extent of our fate"
And
"But you can always be sure
That you’re never alone"
So simple but captivating. Loved reading it ☺
