The silent killer

The silent killer

A Poem by David Ellis
"

A verse about the effects of implanted surgical mesh

"
The silent killer lurks within,
We’ve been Infected by the plastic, that they put in,
It has no respect for race or gender,
Nor whether you are big, medium, robust or slender,
The position in the body, doesn’t matter too much,
There is no discrimination, it just hurts so much,
With the smallest of movements, it reminds you again,
That this thing is there, its causing your pain,
The surgeons still tell us, it can’t be the mesh,
But offer no reasons, why we are in this mess,
Why should we have to, manage our pain,
Take medication, that distorts our brain,
We don’t want to exist, we want to live a life,
To be a happy person, husband or wife,
Sadly, all we have now, are our hopes and dreams,
We are trying to survive, by any means,
Inside of us, is the killer within,
We didn’t ask for it, or want it, they just put it in.
