Dark Ruminations

Dark Ruminations

A Poem by Scott Wolfskill
"

A poem I wrote on 9/14/14 for my solo project, Solitude's Call.

"

My life, it fades

With every second passing away

The tears, they flow

I only wish I had never known

The longing for death,

The sorrow and despair

Abandonment by those who should’ve cared.

The crippling lies

A bitter taste

Am I really stronger from the trials I’ve faced?

Self-destructive habits

The loathing and regret

These are the things I wish to forget.

Is there any end worth

Or any reason why

I had to suffer those nights where I wished to die?

Is there any true purpose

Or any final goal

To why I’ve felt so much pain so deep in my soul?

I long to live

I long to love

I long to feel strength on me from above.

But I’ve been handed death,

I’ve been left all alone.

There is no heaven to call my home.

What joy can be found?

What hope can be left?

In a cruel world what remains is solitude and death.
