I love listening to you reading your poems, it adds that extra depth to them. History in poetry is one of my favorites, telling stories of old, you recreate the scene and take your listener back in time to walk with the old bellman. I also like the character, an important job in their time yet one of those forgotten. Thank you for this poem, David. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
