obscure

obscure

A Poem by A.M. Nelson

obscure--

tension glides between

thumb and pointer

i think of treasure island and

palm trees bobbing on jelly cups

mrs. cat purrs, frisking my leg,

she wants din-dins

but i don't fall for her wiles

instead; stand and placidly

stare

at the clock on the wall

as it breaks me down into

seconds.
