A Poem by A.M. Nelson

it probably has artful language
and moon residue.

likes to touch your heart,
that naughty thing no
c**k could penetrate. only
words

only words have power here,
in the depths of deep things
and sorry thoughts

that cling with a child's
grip, and press like lips,
and smother you like sodden
sheets still lingering on
summer's final breath.

but despair is in the waiting,
in the wings
of this cruel, loud, theater.
ready to melt over these bodies
and freeze over our smiles,

now turned grimace in this autumnal
light; this folliage of death.

yes, i like what you did with the "gollum" line for sure.

kind of quick little snappy rhyme in there.
very nice place for it.

i really liked this piece aside from "gollum's eyes" and "folliage of death"

other than that, good style, nice structure/format.
flow. etc.

I'll be checking out some more of your stuff, so expect reviews.

peace
