The Words that Clothe Me

The Words that Clothe Me

A Poem by Nyssa Nyx
"

A concrete poem I made in Creative Writing class. It describes the feelings of despair the girl clothed in words felt.

"

Oh, how far my dreams went! How much I had dreamed!
How much I longed for that colorful world I imagined!
But how cruel the world is, how cruel is God
To tear all of my hopes from my grasp,
Thrusting me into an oblivion of misery
I notice the Angels retreating, is there no hope for this sinner?
I suppose I can never return to light
I suppose this empty, lonely void is my cage
But no matter the number of apologies I utter
No matter the repentance I face
No matter the pain my heart and mind endures, suffers
The sparks of light only sputter away
Then vanish once again
Away with the wind that carries my tears
And the words that clothe me with a comforting hush

-----------------------
And now-  -the string is broken
And so my dreams are lost
Drifting away with the wind
And my hope comes to
An end

Sadly, I couldn't make the picture bigger, so I decided to put the words below it so people can read them. I wouldn't have worried about adding the pic, but it's a concrete poem, so it needs to picture to accent the words and vice versa.
