Relationships and friendships always change, it's natural. Sometimes it hurts to move on, but sometimes it's the healthiest thing you can do.

Memory Box

 

They say to forgive and forget those who have put you down, and those who have done you wrong

But I can’t forgive and I can’t forget

I want to but I don’t know how to

Because even when friendships do not stay the memories always will

So I’ll take these with me and do what I can which is to walk away

 

It’s time I do what’s best for me

It’s time I put my mind to ease

Somethings just hurt too deep

Making them too hard to keep

 

So I’ll put these memories to rest, safe and sound inside a box

And there they’ll lay until some day

I feel free to choose to see

The moments, the people I left behind

The past I had to put away

 

Moving on is hard to do especially after all we’ve been through

But you all seem to be doing wellWhich makes me ashamed to talk about how I fell

It’s okay though because I think I’ve finally found my way

 

People in our lives will always change and those closest may even leave

They may go far but it’s always important to remember who you are

Certain people can make that hard to see which is not how that should ever be

 

Which is why I’ll put these memories to rest, safe and sound inside a box

And there they’ll lay until someday

I feel free to choose to see

The moments, the people I left behind

The past I had to put away

 

I’ll look at the pictures and I’ll read the old notes

And remember a time where it all felt fine

And with some time I may even laugh

Which is why you’re not supposed to go looking in the past
