Lord of all My Days

Lord of all My Days

A Poem by Devin Mitchell Durbin
"

I wrote this poem while contemplating the things that God has done for me.

"

There are ashes in my bloodstream.

The burning blood of life before.

You took my wounds and wrapped them up.

And in your love I found that I’m enough.

There are days when I am weary.

The work of life breaking my back.

You took my bones and strengthened them.

And in your strength I found peace.

You are the Lord of all my life

Throughout all days, and in all strife

You are the King of all my days.

I am not afraid.

For whom shall I fear?

For you are near.

There are cuts that dig so deep.

Abuse has broken my skin and left gashes.

You took my heart and made it whole

And in your faith I’m set free.

There are nights when I fall down.

The paths I take leave me lost and on my own.

You opened the way and lit the sky

And in your death you guide me home.

You are the Lord of all my life

Throughout all days, and in all strife

You are the King of all my days.

I am not afraid.

For whom shall I fear?

For you are near.

When I’m with you I have no fear.

Even when I feel that the end is near,

I know that even in these bad days

Without you they would be Hell.

My worst days with You

Are better than my best without You.

But You are the Lord of all my life

Throughout all days, and in all strife

You are the King of all my days.

I am not afraid.

For whom shall I fear?

For you are near.
